AFRICA BURNS

At the beginning I was surprised that here everywhere the fields and bushes are openly burned, even in the national parks. This has a reason however. When here during the summer everything is dried out the dry broken grass suffocates the ground and prevents anything new from growing.

When the brushwood is burned and it rains everywhere becomes overgrown with a lush green in the matter of no time. Amazing.

This fire tactic is unfortunately also used by poachers to scare out the animals and kill them.

I think in both cases many animals are killed this way. They have no chance. The opinion about this is split amoungst the gamekeepers. And it is not possible to find a unanimous solution.
