WITCHCRAFT

In Malawi the people used to live as a unity
and everyone shared everything with one another.
  All were the same.

When the white man came he taught the black:
farming and livestock breeding and to multiply
his possession.

Just as all were the same the belief in witchcraft and magic are omnipresent even today.  Here you have the witchdoctor, he has an important function in the healing and finding of problems.

It so took place that a wealthy black women was visited by a relative who died in her house a few days later.  According to the belief in miracles and witchcraft rich people can only acquire their wealth through black magic.  And when a person dies in their house it is clear that the wealthy person has bewitched this person.  Thus wealth is clearly associated with black magic.  All acquaintances, neighbours and friends point their fingers at the the witch or warlock and talk behind their back.

As everyone knows everyone here and the prevailing settlement of the culture here is equality many rich blacks move to another area in order to not to be accused of witchcraft.  Otherwise one can, so to speak, "free" oneself by taking care of one's relatives.  And the number of relatives is in most cases widely branched and accordingly very large.
